What is your screen width?

Postby vindex » Thu Jan 28, 2010 1:04 pm

Hello everyone,

I would like to know what the width of your screen resolution is!
Well, actually I want to know what the window width is in which you are displaying this site, but finding that out would be a bit tricky. Unless you are not using your browser maximized, this is what I want from you! ^^

How you can find out:
Windows XP: Rightclick on your Desktop → PropertiesSettingsScreen resolution states something like "1280 by 1024", the first value is the width, the second is the height.

Windows Vista: Rightclick on your Desktop → PersonalizeDisplay SettingsResolution states something like "1280 by 1024", the first value is the width, the second is the height.

Windows 7: Rightclick on your Desktop → Screen ResolutionResolution states something like "1280 by 1024", the first value is the width, the second is the height.

MacOS: Apple MenuSystem PreferencesDisplay PanelsDisplayResolution

Ubuntu: SystemPreferencesDisplay

If you find no exact matches in the poll, please select the option that is closest to yours - if you are in the middle of two, please select the option with less width than you have.

Thank you all for participating and we hope you will be flying with FOD-airlines again!

to all people who sent me a PM about not being able to vote, it's not your fault!
I was not aware that global announcements (those which appear in every forum) copy their permissions from the forum you are currently in.
So for example if you accessed this topic via the Rules-forum, you were not allowed to post/vote here because you are not allowed to post/vote in the Rules-forum.
Those of you who accessed this topic via another forum were able to vote.

I moved the topic to a normal announcement, hope this works for everyone now!

please, we have more than 37 regular visitors, take the time and answer the poll :)

This will possibly have an influence on the future style of this site.

I think this thread should be post in General section too since many members don't care about this section as much as the General section.

Hezam, I'm surprised that most people view General Topics first. I thought most people viewed the forum the way I do, by selecting "View New Posts" on the top of "Board Index Page"
index.php

It is in this way we are able to view all posts that have been made most recently, no matter what area or topic they are under. :) I don't miss any new posts anywhere on the forum!

Interesting...you would think people are more interested in "IMPORTANT NEWS AND INFORMATION" ( where they find the RULES, some NEWS and GENERAL INFORMATION about Declan, the FAN CLUB ...etc ). And "Forum Announcements" is also there! I'm expecting FOD members, or at least active members, to read those. Isn't it easier to just check out Forum Announcements first than send an e-mail to the administration and ask "why/ where/ how this and that?"

As about "View new posts"...it's not the best way to make sure you don't miss any post. For instance, you log in, click on "View new posts" and find out there are 36 new posts. You get to read just 8 and remember you have to do something else right away, so you sign out. Later, log in again and when checking new posts, you'll notice there isn't any (assuming no one has posted anything since your last visit). BUT if you press "View UNREAD posts", you'll be able to see the other 28 posts.

I log on and just start from the top of the menu page and read everything that's highlighted. I go back a few posts to make sure I haven't missed anything - that's the easiest for me. I used to just read under "View New Posts" and found I was missing some. It's a matter of what is easiest for you I suppose. I call it "whatever floats your boat!"

Kimberlee, What's the menu page - is that "Board Index"..., and what do you mean by "highlighted"???

I'm going to start a thread asking "DO YOU GET THE MOST OF THE FORUM?"...
Casandra, could you transfer these last few posts to that thread? ??

Thank you...! 8)

Yes, Tru. I'm sorry - sometimes I'm not good with terminology. The Board Index is correct and when I say "highlighted" I mean the circles that are red.
It's really what is easiest for people I would think. Each one of us has our own method of reading the forum. You have a good idea with your new thread, I think, because it's a good way to ensure that no one misses anything. :)
